Set up your Still-Life

If you are going to paint from life here is how you get set up.
The light should come over the left shoulder if you are right handed and vise versa.
Decided if you are going to paint with natural or artificial light.
Stand or sit where you can see both subject and canvas at the same time without peering around the easel or over it. Leave room for you to step back regularly to assess your picture without tripping over your equipment.
