Guest Artist ....................Gerry Stein

Bright, shimmering colors of spectacular southwest desert landscapes and southwestern scenes are the trademark of Gerry Stein's southwest oil paintings on canvas. Since Gerry first laid eyes on Arizona and the southwest at the age of ten, his interest as an artist has been to capture the beauty and spirit of southwestern desert terrain in a spiritual as well as physical way in his art.

Gerry patiently creates his southwest art in vivid and detailed paintings with palette knife and fine brushes using up to ten layers of vibrant cadmium colors. Gerry's southwestern art works have a “pointillist” effect when used on varieties of cactus, desert flora and magnificent mountain ranges

Gerry is primarily a self-taught artist who now paints full-time since retiring from his career as a high school teacher of advanced mathematics. Gerry devotes his complete attention to his work for fine art shows and competitions in the West and Southwest.
National exposure includes his exhibition in the prestigious May Gallery's Scottsdale Celebration of Fine Art, and his selection as a featured artist in Southwest Art Magazine's "Emerging Artists."
Gerry was also selected as a featured artist in Artists of Arizona magazine and in Art of the West Magazine's “Guidebook of Western Artists. His commissioned painting, “He Loves Bikers” was recently featured in Thunder Press, the official publication for American motorcycle enthusiasts.
Gerry’s selected southwestern art prints and western subject matter as well as Grand Canyon art, come in various sizes. Each print is matted in rich, complimentary colors and then individually hand-embellished in watercolor on the mat. This produces a beautiful "3-D" effect when framed with glass, making each of them "one of a kind.” The price range of Gerry’s work can accommodate any buyer of southwest art!
Collections of Gerry’s southwestern paintings and prints are in many corporate offices locally and throughout the United States.
