Color Trends 2011

As a designer you need to keep up with the decorating trends, one way to do it is keep abreast of the predicted color and decorating trends.
Here is what I have been able to find out for the coming year 2011.
Coming on strong are the hues of tomato red, berry bright magenta, deep apricot, exotic coral and peacock blue.
Blue is still going to be very popular, bright and crystal clear blue to deep spiritual blue will be seen. Blues leaning toward a purple will be popular also. The blue-greens add a tad of excitement to an
otherwise calming and relaxing monochromatic palette.
Slightly toned down, the rich peacock blues bring a touch of extravagance to color schemes
Turquoise creates the biggest splash this year in interior d├ęcor. Next will be a clear light icy blue.
Contrast comes from using the complementary scheme of turquoise and red, and aqua and coral.
Neutrals will play a leading role in the coming year. Low chroma colors like
brown, gray and beige may be clear, or grayed, and may have a very distinct undertone of color.

What are the design trends?

We will see highly reflective effects in silver and white. Pearl glazes will add a bit of sophistication and luxury to the common objects. This will be fun to use in our designs!
Also, matte metallic finishes in bronze and gold will take on a new level of glamour.
We will see over-sized prints in damask, paisley, geometric circles, crisscross shapes and patchwork in traditional colors and bold colors paired with neutrals in our fabrics.
Again he African inspired animal hides will be very hot, cheetah, leopard and zebra will stay in focus.
Here is a peek at what we will be seeing!
