Critique Corner

It is very helpful to critique paintings to learn from, so this will be something I will do to help artists see how to paint and how not to!
This painting has some great use of colors, the sky is nice, the clouds are all unique and not the same shape, the lights and darks are balanced well. The water looks real, however the artist placed the lighthouse right dab in the center of the picture...it would have been much better if it had been placed in the golden mean.
Some of the foam areas look like each other, there are three similar areas hitting the rocks. It would have been better if they all looked a bit different.
